Recently we received a fresh promo by Mikael Weermets. The EP is called Euforia and except for the original version contains a really cool remix by Albin Myers. What has he been doing lately by the way?

Good morning! (For me at least)

Our main DJ in Athens – SIS 74th – keeps sending us such fantastic mixtapes that we can’t say no to him. No Ableton or traktor here ladies and genltemen, these geazer records everything live with just a couple of pioneers and a mixer. Both overall quality and beatmixing are of such high standard that he leaves both Angello and Laidback behind, blaiming there latest mixsets on a hangover or bad sound system. Conclusion: Keep an eye on SIS 74th, he’ll be playing in Miami in a couple of years.

Remember the DJ duo from Gothenburg who released two massive singles Clouds and Apollo in april this year and instantly gained blogosphere’s full love and support? Well, Don & Palm are back and they are here to stay!

The new EP contains tracks Shine and Addicted. Shine is a light and happy progressive house tune. Audible style. Addicted is cooler and darker. I give this guys full support and think they will do very well in the not so distant future.

If you started spinning house about the same time as I did you must remember the 2002 classic “Dancing in the dark” by 4tune500. If not here is a reminder:

The tune had a repsectfull bass line in combination with some funky tribal drums and became one of personal favorites of our good friend Pete Tong who was dropping it on Radio 1 over and over again. The original vinyl sold 15 000 copies and could be found in the crate of every self-respecting DJ in Ibiza as well as under the bed of every wanna-be DJ north of Copenhagen including me.

Well, 6 years later, it’s time to pick it up again and blow off the dust. As all the other old-school dancefloor wonders Dancing in the Dark has been re-released in a new 2008 version along with a bunch of remixes. Personally I’m a bit tired of this tune recycling trend. You know what I’m talking about: The men with the red face, Children, Jaguar, Born Slippy.

What’s going on here is a bit more than a regular remake. It’s a remix competetion.
If you buy the 2008 club mix package for Euro 3,86 at DjDownload you will also recieve a production package with all the separate channels of the track. Just lock yourself into the studio and make sure to come up with a remix better than the ones bellow. The competition closes on 22nd of December and the winners get their remixes release + 30 free downloads on DjDownload. How about that? C’mon! What you waiting for? Go Sweden!
