Saturday Mixtape – Ridge style

Ok, so I’m a nerd. I have no problems standing at home, alone, and mix CDs as a pre-party, me myself, and I (and some beers occationally). Actually, every time I suspect the warmup set at the club will be so and so, I do my own, for me. Sometimes I record them, like the one you will get today. The thought for this set was the first tracks to be for the bartenders and the few eager early people, and give the next DJ a full dancefloor and a good song and mood to continue on.

Enjoy!

Pawas – Piano Rain (Original Mix)
Lemon Popsicle – Turn The Lights (Orignal Mix)
Hans Thalau – Lassur (Milton Jackson Remix)
Booka Shade – Charlotte (Mic Newman Remix)
Jon Gurd – Fire In Me (Original Mix)
Roland Clark – Black in My Soul (Tiger Stripes Remix)
Umek & Beltek – Is It (Original Mix)
Olivier Giacomotto – Guacamoli (Original Mix)
Julien Hox & DiDark – Sonus Populi (DiHoXs Remix)
Namito & Namtrack – This is What U Need (Original Mix)
Guy Gerber – Guilty Pleasure (Original Mix)
Umek – 2nd To None (Original Mix)
Kolombo – I’m On Your Side (Nikitin & Semikashev Remix)
Noir – The Off World (Original Mix)
Deadmau5 – Slip (Original Mix)

Cheers!

House Music With Love on tour!

Got your paycheck and feeling on top of the world? We know the feeling.

Make sure not to spend everything on stock market speculations. Come and party with us instead. Since we are planing to cause double trouble in Malmoe this weekend.

First of all a really cool gay club concept from Berlin is visiting the town tonight. Captain Kinky Pinky – such a great name. They are bringing Mr Henrik Maneuver and asked us at HMWL to come and spin some banging electro house with him. We could not say no. Tonight 23-04@ A2, Adelgatan 2, Malmoe

Meanwhile tomorrow we will be on completely different mission. The freshest, the poshest, the sexiest membership club in Malmoe called VIP-Lounge is back. We will be djing for some good looking guys and girls who will be spending their whole paychecks on champagne. House Music With Love will be serving some sophisticated electronica at VIP-Lounge @ Chili-Bar, Södergatan 3, Malmoe this Saturday 22 – 02. It’s list only, but drop us a comment, we’ll get you in. ;)

Finally, we are proud to announce that HMWL will be hitting Europe for a minor tour this summer. Athens, Paris, Barcelona and Berlin are defintely the towns we are coming to, to spin some fresh tunes for the massives, but there are more club and festival confirmations to come.

Peace!

Back to the roots promos: Cabaretera/Bulgarian Chicks

photo:groovy

So how are you?
Lazy to go out and party since the weather stinks?

No worries, HWML got two more great promos for you. Both are unreleased. Both will be out soon. And both artists are completely cool with us blogging the tracks out. Respect!

Danel is a Mexican Dj/Producer from Xalapa City. Cabaretera is a techy, yet organic track with a trumpet to die for. This might not be the final version, but keep your eyes open for this track in the near future.

DANEL – CABARETERA [SEXY TECH HOUSE]

Danel@Myspace (Check out Bajo Groove! It’s a tech bomb!)
Danel@Beatport

Rember SIS? The guy that brought us Lilly from the Valley and Trumpeta? Well few people know that trumpeta uses the some samples from a track called Bulgarian Girls by a band called Balkan Beat Box. Apparently there were some copyright issues and Trumpeta seems to have been taken off the beatport.

Our main balkanaian Z.U.T.K.O. decided to make a better remix and to do it right, using the original band name and the title. His locked up in the studio mastering it at the moment. The official release is later this spring.

BALKAN BEAT BOX – BULGARIAN GIRLS (Z.U.T.K.O BALKAN REMIX) [ROSENGÅRD HOUSE]

I’m off to some designer event @ Babel.
See you there?

Peace!

Fresh promo from 1980 Recordings

Hey!
How are you all doing today?

My most frequently played house tune is Paolo Mojo – 1983 (Eric Prydz Remix). I know it got a few years on it’s neck, but I still tend to drop it on packed dancefloors about 45 minutes before the venue closes. Magic.

Few minutes ago I found another great “year track” in my promo inbox. The 1994 EP was released today on Beatport and contains, except for the original by Diegopericles, two remixes by Jay North and Adonakis. The original have an old-school rave like screaming touch to it. Adonakis provides a heavy main room electro banger. Jay North remix is my favorite one with a dreamy progressive feeling to it. I’m definitely playing this one at the club this friday.

Big thanks to Dan McKie at 1980 Recordings.

Two more great promos coming tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Yours.

The new bloger

Hey,

My name is Kad and I’m your new bloger. I’m a 22 yrs old DJ from Malmoe, Sweden. I’ve played in several clubs and have some awesome mixtapes on the net (well the mixes is not so awesome but the music is). When I play at home i use Traktor 3 Studio, but I only play CDs in the clubs. Pioneer CDJ800 is the shit :P .
My main object here in this blog is to bring som mainstream music for you people. The music that everybody will dance to, not only house lovers like ourselves. So I’ll start with a couple of highlights from the past 2-3 months and with time we’ll catch up with todays latest beats. I forgot to tell you, I’ll mainly put up youtube links for the songs. I don’t want any labels sewing my ass you know. :) And ofcourse as respect for the DJ/Producers who have givin energi and love to bring such tunes :D
So at the label Songbird is a doughter label to Black Hole Recordings and for you who doesn’t know there’s some pretty awesome Tiësto music coming out of that label.
Now, I like to present one of my favorit songs ever from one of the most awesome producers/DJs ever: Deadmou5. The tune is called Clockwork and it’s something between deep house and trance, this kind of music makes me so happy knowing that theres some great minds out there making tunes to satisfy our ears and brains with.
Well now to a tune I never really liked but this mix blew my mind. You all know The Cube Guys - Baba O’Riley but this one is mixed by Arno Cost & Norman Doray. I heard this one the first time when Fedde Le Grand came to play here in Malmoe, but Fedde didn’t play it, but the awesome warm-up DJ called Samuel Jason and it did an amazing impact on people. You can see it in my youtube video right here, fast farward to 2:12.
This next tune is a legendary club tune, I wasn’t sure if mainstream people would buy it on the flore but then I soon realize that they f*cking love it. The label is Net’s work Recordings and they”ve released beats wellknown names such as Funkerman, Fedde Le Grand, Jerry Ropero, Steve Angello and the list can be really long so here it is: A beat made by Axwell with a little bit help from his buddy Bob Sinclar and leadsong by Ron Carroll and we have What a wonderful world.
We’ll start with those and I promise to bring some new tunes next time. And remember, this is my first time bloging about music so don’t be hard on me! Take care.
Peace, love & beats/Kad

Lisa Shaw – free single from the upcoming album

The most beautiful voice in the history of house is back. For some house Djs the name Lisa Shaw might unfortunately not even ring a bell. Netherless she’s responsible for “vocalising” some magic releases for producers like Miguel Migs, Home & Garden, JT Donaldson and Fred Everything to name a few.

Her second studio album “Free” is being produced by Dave Warrin, Miguel Migs, and Tim K and will hit the stores on march the 20th.

Here is one of the tracks:

Listen/Download:

Deep, cosmic house. Gives me goose bumps. I bet “Can You See Him” has all the potential to become the next deep house anthem if remixed for the club floors by the right people.
Tiger Stripes? Adam K and Soha? Bush II Bush? John Creamer? I’m just speculating.

Thanks to Low Life Inc (NYC) for the tip.

Have a great wednesday!

The Pirate Bay & Groove Armada

No matter what your opinion on sharing of copyrighted material may be, but if you are aged 14 – 30 and consider yourself being a frequent internet user, I bet that you’ve been sneaking around The Pirate Bay looking for a movie, an album or a program to download at least once during the last 4 years.

After the kick start in 2003, the The Pirate Bay has been a subject for huge media attention, has been closed down by one of the largest (and worst organized) police raids in Swedens history, only to be re-opened again a few days later on a dutch Server. The site has gained 20 million users thanks to the all the unintentional PR, has been accused to be the biggest villian as well as the biggest savior of the music industry. The Pirate Bay is probably the main reason why the file sharing has become todays hottest topic mostly used for verbal pie-throwing amongst the Swedish politicians.

The trial has started today. And it seems like the guys behind might be going down. They would probably win, but the fact that they made quite a fortune on all the ads does not seem to please the judges. On the other hand they claim that all the revenue gained on ads have been reinvested in site maintenance or donated to starving children in Africa. Follow the trial on DN.

Few artists (let alone record labels) out there are getting the law of the Long Tail that have been taking over the music industry during the last few years: The only thing that sells today is hype, records alone won’t make you any bucks. And no matter if The Pirate Bay will win or loose in court, people will still share music, since it’s getting easier and easier every day.

My favorite festival rockers Groove Armada seem to be right on the track despite being old-school. They are actually giving away the new EP for free as a part of a co-op campaign with Bacardi. You can get all the five tracks for free, but you have to recommend the site to you friends, the more friends that listen to the tracks, the more tracks you get. Great idea we say.
We at House Music With Love give huge thumbs up to Groove Armada and therefor give you only one track in order not to sabotage their campaign. Check the website for the additional four tracks.

Might not sound to great to start with, but wait till the 1.54 break is over. Pure Funk. Groove Armada style.

For more Groove Armada check out their Myspace and the track catalog on beatport

Peace & Good luck to The Pirate Bay!
