New Design + Apache Records

Apache Records

Alright folks, the moment you’ve been waiting for is here. House Music With Love goes WEB 3.0 No need to give us too many creds on the new design, we know that it’s uber-fucking-fantastic. Without further jibberish let’s get down to music.

We’ve been saving some heavy case promos for the launch of the new site. Apache Records is a small french record label that released some cult 12″s back in 2004. The vinyls were extensively spinned by Roger Sanchez, Marting Solveig and some other huge DJs. The craziest thing is that these tracks never ever ever ever were released in mp3 format. This is a world premier:

Eternal Life – We Take A Beat (Apache Records)
(Zshare/YouSendIt)

Eternal Life – Falling in Love again (Apache Records)
(Zshare/YouSendIt)

Apache Records @ Myspace
Neveridol @ Myspace <–Their new promising project

Huge thanks to Fredrik at Gevolve for the fresh design and also to Arnaud at Apache Records for the entire catalogue.
So how do you like the new layout?

Peace!

Saturday Mixtape: House Music WIth Love Vol. 3

Party People!
Another saturday, another mixtape. But not the ordinary stuff, no, once again time for a sweet podcast from your favorite blog. Today it is me, Ridge forrester, who has the honor of putting out my mixset, for you, dear reader. I’ve been working on this piece for a while now. I wanted to something a bit different, not the ordinary mix song in out, but rather let the songs merge in a greater degree. I wanted the busy and intense sound, instead of the clean and undisturbed. There are not many parts where only
one song is playing, and long periods with three songs simoultaneously.
Please enjoy. Feedback always appriciated.

House Music With Love Vol.3 Mixed by Ridge Forrester
1. M83 – Couleurs (Original Mix) mashed with Soda Inc. – Night Fever (Jon Silva Remix)
2. Fine Taste – More Grey Than Blue (Original Mix) mashed with M.I.K.E. – Nu Sensation (Dumb Dan Remix)

Steve Angello vs Paris Hilton – round 1

VS

Usually I hate gossip and this blog is all about good music but this one is too funny.
Paris Hilton’s Myspace tonight:

Just checking in to say hello and clear a few things up. I’ve been getting a lot of calls and emails regarding these subjects I’m about to discuss. First of all, last night at a club my boyfriend and I were assaulted for no reason at all. The DJ (I don’t even know his name cause he sucks so bad) was playing the worst music ever! I like certain techno music, but this was not even danceable and was frankly giving me a migraine. I asked one of my friends who runs the hotel if he could change the music and he said ” I’ll lead you up to the DJ booth tell him and he’ll play whatever you want.” So he walked Doug and I over there.

I asked the DJ if he could please play Daft Punk or Bob Sinclair and he rudely snapped at me and was like ‘I only play this kind of music.” I think he was jealous cause Bob Sinclair is a far better DJ then this guy by about a million times. He was so unbelievably rude and all because I asked to play one good song. Then out of nowhere his bodyguard (don’t ask me why he has a bodyguard, like he really needs one. Ha) pushed me really hard, that’s when my boyfriend, like my knight in shining armor, stepped in and told the guy to keep his hands off of me. Then all hell broke loose, it was like something out of a fight movie, it was so frightening.

Hahaha…Our best regards to Steve. Poor dude.

New Lykke Li Remix + Help Jossan!

Jossan is a cool Swedish girl that would not harm a fly. By some strange reason the evil Swedish House Producer Alaa El-Beachlaoui decided to bully her in all kinds of way, from sending her egg bombs to calling her up in the middle of the night and just panting for 5 minutes before hanging up. He even declared a blog war on her. So we decided to help pure Jossan out. MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT HER BLOG!

Yeah, she is not a very good writer, but the photos are quite sexy!

Meanwhile we bring you another great remix on Likke Li. You guys can’t seem to get enough of these. This one is the best one on Little Bit I’ve heard so far.

Enjoy the weekend!!!
And watch out for a massive podcast by our very own Ridge “Mr-I-work-too-hard” Forrester!

Sinner (Unreleased Mix)

Photo: Madsergio

The Steals Vs Grafiti – Sinner was originally released on Cyber Records in late 2008. The original mix is dreamy and progressive and Pierce remix and Dub gives it a bit more up-tempo, tribal feeling.

By some strange reason the the best version dissapeared on the way to the store and was actually never released. Leama and James Davis “Grafiti” Mix only appears once on Global Underground 35 by Nick Warren. Too bad we say.

This is a 320 version, but a short edit. Anyone got a longer one? Apperently there is also a rare Michael Cassette remix being spined by top progessive Djs out there. Anyone?

More Grafiti @ Beatport

Enjoy the Sun!

Bloc Weekend

Hello chaps!

So I vistited Bloc Weekend @ Minehead, UK this weekend. It’s an indoor festival with small artists like Aphex Twin, Future Sound of London, Ed Rush & Optical, Altern 8, Metro Area, Ulrich Schnauss, Carl Craig, Afrika Bambaataa, Modeselektor, Jamie Lidell, I-F and.. well, you catch the drift. On top of this, you live in small apartments, in which you have both warm soft beds, a shower and a kitchen. NO MORE TENTS AND MUD! It’s genious.

Anyway, the music is top notch, the sound is amazing and the light is breath taking. There are four scenes, of which at least one was open almost 24 hours. Also, they only allow 5000 visitors and no one under 18 years, so the atmosphere is really friendly and cozy.

And the music, ammagad, the music.

My top 5 Bloc 09:
1. Aphex Twin – I’ve never seen anything like it, low passed old school (88-93) samples over quirky sounds in surround, building for two hours. The crowd didn’t know where to go, incl myself.
2. Ed Rush & Optical – The most aggressive d’n'b (which is not gabber) on the planet. Neurophunk at it’s best. Didn’t know there could be so much energy in one single room.
3. Altern 8 – Remember his song Frequency? Probably not. Well, I do. It’s the best. He closed his set with Prodigy’s Out of Space, and everybody went ballistic.
4. Ulrich Schnauss – The soothing sound carpets sound even better at maxed volume. He kept building until I wept. Ulrich for president!
5. Ebola – Absolulely awesome dubstep. Really energetic, and deep as hell. Actually, you can’t get any deeper, humans can’t hear below approximately 20 Hz.

Here’s a video for you, with crappy sound (as always with these cameras), but it will give you a sense of what you missed. Don’t worry, there is a 2010.

The interested reader can find more videos on youtube and bloctv.

Cheers!
/Ridge F.

Interview: Zweiklang on WMC 2009

The second interview in our WMC 2009 (March 24th – 28th) series.

Zweiklang twins have been spitting out funky summer house with a latin touch, like a well oil ice-machine spits out ice cubes at some VIP beach party in Miami. We interviewed them to get some perspective on the upcoming event, as well as their own future productions:

HMWL: What productions and remixes can we look forward to from Zweiklang in the nearest future?

ZWEIKLANG: A lot of hot productions on our new label Solardish Records – very soon the WMC 2009 Sampler, new projects with talented vocalists (Esteban Garcia from Berlin, Larrick Ebanks from London, Tania Mashay from Manhattan, etc.), new Remixes, e.g. for Ernest Joy in Los Angeles, Lovesound in Marseille.

HMWL: What gigs have you already been booked to for 2009 and which ones are you most exited about?

ZWEIKLANG: We`ve already been booked for a party at Nikki Beach, Miami. This summer we are booked for a club night at Café Del Mar in Tarifa. Some more gigs in Europe are confirmed, e.g. Mykonos. We’re also excited about a new club night here in Germany.

HMWL: The WMC 2009 is just around the corner (March 24th – 29th). Which artist (maybe including yourself) do you think will do especially well this year?

ZWEIKLANG: Female vocalist Tania Mashay will have several live appearances at WMC 2009, you should check here out. We think that Alvaro Hylander from Midtjylland, Denmark should deserve more attention this year, he has got some great tracks coming out the next months on Solardish Records. Another great producer, where you should focus on is Paul Keeley from Montreal. Also have a listen to the producers and djs Systemfunk, Groove Cocktail, Converge and Neal Paul.

Many thanks! House Music All Night Long!!!!!

BONUS The Outro Lugar EP was released a while ago, but have not recieved the attentions it deserves. Chris Reece takes this latin tune to a whole other level. 5/5

ZWEIKLANG – OUTRO LUGAR [CHRIS REECE REMIX]

The Outro Lugar EP including mixes by Fabio Tosti can be found here: Part 1 & Part 2.

Earth hour

Hey guys,

I’ve been training my ass off and hopefully I’ll get bigger from now on, because those who have met or seen me playing can confirm that I’m a little guy. Well, all I can say is I’m planning on playing topless on the beach parties I’m planning to have this summer.

About the concept party, IT WAS OF THE HOOK!!! Eric Browne came down shortly after my arrival and got settled with the CDJs then he went to take a few drinks. I and Mr. Skyjacker began spinning some awesome tunes. Gosh I wish I had been DJ a little longer and have bigger CD case because those two guys, Eric and Skyjacker, have too many CDs to choose from. People went crazy just before Eric took over. Skyjacker and I had been building up the crowd’s state all night and the last track I but on for Eric to continue on was nothing less than Let the bass kick by Chuckie. After many “woooooaaa” from the crowd I got my last two tracks, and people went crazy. They went like, “Eric Eric” and “We want more, we want more”. Having all of that said, I want to thank Eric for a great night and Skyjacker for giving me the opportunity to play.

Enough of me and more about awesome tunes? Yeah, that’s what I thought

Alright guys, you know that I’m in love with tunes that works on more people than just house lovers. So I found some tracks that works for everybody. And especially those who already loves house or beginning to love house.

Track one: Released a label called Unreleased Digital, 19 feb 2009. This tune is heavy, deep… Call it whatever you want, I choose to call it AWSOME.
Daniel Portman @Beatport, Daniel Portman @MySpace
Dinka @Beatport, Dinka @MySpace
Daniel Portman – Open your eyes (Dinka D.E.E.P remix)

Track two: Aaah, what can I say, I’m in love. Nothing much to say about the track besides that it’s re-edited by Axwell.
Abel Ramos @Beatport, Abel Ramos @MySpace
Miss Melody @Beatport, Miss Melody @MySpace
Abel Ramos & Miss Melody – Rotterdam, city of love (Axwell re-edit)

Track three: I played this one on our party this Friday and It was a little risky, I got some angry faces but then I realize that it’s not the whole track but only the vocals that was bad, so now I got it special for you only instrumental.
Cristian Marchi @Beatport, Cristian Marchi @MySpace
Dr. Feel-X @Beatport
Cristian Marchi Ft. Dr. Feel-X – Love Sex American Express (Instrumental mix)

Last but not least , I want you to know and participate for a better world buy joining the Earth hour event and shut your lights for an hour, more information @ http://www.earthhour.org/.

Until next time my friends,
Peace, love & beats/Kad
