Burn You Up, Burn You Down

nik

Nik Tripper & George Kouk are two fine Greek producers. Both coming from the field of Radio production, the slide-over into making some funky 80s inspired electro was kind of natural for this guys.

We just received two tracks from their upcoming EP:

Nik Tripper & George Kouk – Burn You Up, Burn You Down (Electro Mix) (ZippyShare/YSI) <—Small room
Nik Tripper & George Kouk – Burn You Up, Burn You Down (Instrumental Dub) (ZippyShare/YSI) <—Big room

Tiger Stripes ticket competition

Tiger Stripes @ Culture Box

We are extremely happy. Partly since we are a bunch of happy-go-lucky dudes. Partly cause we are über-excited about our party at Culture Box on Saturday. Tiger Stripes is definitely one of Sweden’s most sophisticated producers. On top of that he’s completely on fire at the moment. Additionally we are filling up the “Boxes” with Copenhagens Top names in House & Techno – Tim Andresen, Massimo, Patrick Bateman and last but not least – Brian Fomsgaard!

Since we are in one of those mental ticket giveaway spree, we thought we might as well give away two of them.

To get your two VIP-tickets to Tiger Stripes at Culture Box, October 24th.

  • 1. Make sure you are “attending” on Facebook.
  • 2. Send a short motivation why you + 1 friend just have to get into this party for free to competition[at]hmwl.org

We need your answers before Thursday.

Peace!!

David Guetta tickets competition

David Guetta

My first encounter with David Guetta’s production occurred 7 years ago while listening to one of the Africanism albums. For all you new kids on the block, Africanism was the infamous french house producer collective (David Guetta, Dj Gregory, Joachim Garraud, Martin Solveig, Julian Jabre and many more). They were rulling the clubs of Paris during 2000 – 2002 thanks to their Africanism volume I-III mix albums characterised by a very typical tribal and Africa influenced sound.

Since then David Guetta made quite a journey of his own, releasing one club hit after another. And, despite getting a slight too radio friendly lately (I’m talking the One Love album), David Guetta is still one the world’s hugest DJs with great crowd control. The good news is he’s coming to Malmö. The famous Slagthuset will be re-opening just for one night to host the show and the organizers are counting on 4000 – 5000 guests dancing away the night. This is definetely a party you can’t afford to miss.

Thanks to Öresundsgruppen, we have an opportunity to give away 2 David Guetta tickets for October the 23d at Slagthuset. All you have to do is enter the Facebook event as an “attending guest” and tell us the correct name of David Guetta’s first own, official studio album released back in 2002. Send your answer + full name to competition[at]hmwl.org

Competition closes on Saturday, so good luck!!

Old school Bonus 1:

David Guetta – Love is still gone (2009 Tribal Mix)

Old school Bonus 2:

Africanism Allstars – Summer moon (David Guetta & Joachim Garraud Remix)
(Zippyshare/YSI)

More Swedish House

Pryda

Mr Eric Sheridan Prydz have been busy as hell the last 2 years producing epic tunes under names of Cirez D and Pryda alongside his own.  It’s also worth stating that he haven’t released an official remix of elseones work since the 2006 Proper Education remake of Pink Floyd classic. It seems he’s about to break this trend by dropping a remix of Calvin Harris’ overhyped club tune – Flashback. Eric Prydz version is definitely more club-friendlier than the original. Watch our for this one in the nearest future. Revealed by Pete Tong on Radio 1 show last friday.

Calvin Harris – Flashback (Eric Prydz Remix)

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7TYphyJroY

If you hear this one at the club tomorrow, it’s most certainly a youtube rip :)

Next out is this summer most ovehyped tune by SHM. Again. But bear with me. This is definitely most valuable remix for all you DJs out there. The first 30 beat-less seconds can be used as kool overlay DJ tool, and the rest of the track goes down in a scaled-down, small room, dub like mode. Yes, this is the version Angello and Ingrosso are playing in one of their latest Dark Forest clips. Lovely!

Swedish House Mafia & LaidBack Luke – Leave The World Behind (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. SHM Dark Forest Edit) (Zippy/YSI)

Thanks a bunch to The House Selection & Dj Junior!

Sunday Sweetness

gregor-tresher

Boys and girls!

Another lovely sunday in the Swedish capital. Although the weather is a cloudy, it is an excellent day for a walk. The leaves are turning brownish and yellow, increasing the enjoyment. While strolling on small paths with gorgeous views, I’ll most definitely listen to this track on repeat one. It is one of the freshest tracks I’ve heard in months, by the versatile Gregor Tresher. It’s been a lotta talk about him recently – not without reason. Enjoy!

Gregor Tresher – Awaking Life Inside (Break New Soil) by Great Stuff

Gregor Tresher @ Beatport

Found this gem also, from the amazing Henry Saiz, one of Digweed’s favorite remixers (check out his version on Gridlock). I would be cheap if I didn’t share it with you guys. And I’m not cheap (obviously). Check it out, ladies and gentlemen. Awesome stuff on Renaissance.
