Sweden’s first major Dance music festival is just around the corner. On the first of June, the Stockholm University area will be once again filled with several stages – all blasting house, techno and live electronic performance for a huge hungry crowd. This year’s line-up includes UK big beat veterans The Prodigy, Islandic electromnica geniouses Röyksopp, A Dj set by Justice, live performance by French noise group Plapla pinky and many many more.

It takes a while to listen through and discuss 8 mix-sets. All of the mixes submitted to our Hacienda 30 competition were of top notch quality.

All in all one winner has to be selected and the 1st place goes to Karan Luthra. A local dj hero that managed to build up a solid funky groove after just two tracks and keeps the mix alive, evor-evolving and oh so groovy and phat throughout the whole 30 minutes. Sandvikfest is a new-comer on this year’s festival scene. Located in Sandvik a former children’s summer camp in the picturesque village of Björnlunda, just south of Stockholm. This is the perfect place to relax and dance bare-feet in the grass escaping the stess of the city.
