Video: Martin Brodin feat. Mikael Surdi – Don’t Stop The Dance

Martin Brodin  - Don’t Stop the Dance (2013)

Malmö based Martin Brodin returns with a stunning modern disco remake of Bryan Ferry’s classic. Everything in this version sounds superfresh, the bacing vocals, the electric guitar, the police syrens and Mikael Surdi’s vocal interoperation of Bryan.

The video brings together some scenes from the classic American Documentary Paris is Burning (1990) that explored New York‘s gay balls, dance music scene, gender, race and class issues of mid-80s.

Kasper Bjørke prepares another epic electro-pop/nu-disco release for Hamburg based Hfn music ['ha:fən]. Teaming up with Jacob Bellens, the EP sounds a lot like Depeche Mode and smells a lot like spring. Wolf+Lamb’s wonder boy Slow Hands does a great job remixing.

Bill Withers – Who is He (Henrik Schwarz Remix)

Bill001

Officialy known under the monicer Bill001, here is a rare remix of the soulbrother Bill Withers.  Henrik Schwarz lifts the original 1970′s soul track to a new dirty and filtered, house disco level. Previously only available on a limited white-labeled 12″, until it recently landed in our promo box sent by god knows whom. Extensivly used and missused by Steffi from Panorama Bar. Enjoy!

Twist In My Sobriety (Alf Tumble Re-Dress)

Alf Tumble is “that Swedish dude” known to produce soulful grooves of such funky calibre that would make Stevie Wonder himself go break-dancing.  As one half of the SUMO duo, he’s been deliviering funky, soulful, afro-latin tracks by the dozen since early 1999.  Sumo steadily evolved into Bangana, that strips down the music to the essential parts, cutting out all the vocal involvment and rather introducing dark drums and comsic synthesisiers.

Alf just droped us a “back to the deepest roots” re-rub of a disco tune by Tanita Tikaram. Pure ear candy remake of another forever classic. Big … Continue…

Fancy – Slice Me Nice (Crystal Fake Bootleg Remix)

Via: Alyz

Time for another blast from the past.

Long before I got into house, techno or even trance,
Somewhere in the high-school period,
I started to record loads of mix-tapes filled with
80′s disco, synth-pop and electro
To give away to my friends.

We’re talking Alphaville, Fancy, Sandra, Depeche and many more

Yesterday I felt completely nostaligic when I stumbled upon
A very cool Nu-Disco remix of Fancy’s 1984 original
Thanks to Calle Dernulf for indirect inspiration
