Video: Martin Brodin feat. Mikael Surdi – Don’t Stop The Dance

Martin Brodin  - Don’t Stop the Dance (2013)

Malmö based Martin Brodin returns with a stunning modern disco remake of Bryan Ferry’s classic. Everything in this version sounds superfresh, the bacing vocals, the electric guitar, the police syrens and Mikael Surdi’s vocal interoperation of Bryan.

The video brings together some scenes from the classic American Documentary Paris is Burning (1990) that explored New York‘s gay balls, dance music scene, gender, race and class issues of mid-80s.

Albert Fallen – Time (Video)

Albert  Fallen is an alternative electronic band from Paris, France. They recently published a cute self-produced video with one of the tracks from their 1st EP. Arthur Badea (piano and synths) and Rachid Kaké (song, guitar and percussion) themselves describe their music as minimal electroniqua with Pop & Rock influences. I think it’s very creative and forward thinking.

Three out of four tracks are downloadable for free. Why I’m here is a definite favorite.

How to DJ right – Drakenberg on 4 Decks and a Telephone Receiver

Drakenberg, one of Stockholm’s most experienced underground DJs got fed up by people complaining about him DJing with Trakor and recorded that 12 minute set playing Two vinyls and Two CDJs at the same time. It’s all in sync despite a telephone receiver is being used instead of regular headphones.

Laptop Dj software took us by a storm in 2007-2008. Even though the first vinyl emulatior was released by Native Instruments back in 2005, the real wave of Laptop Djing hit the club scene in 2008, with people rapidly switching to Ableton, Serato and Traktor. I clearly remember carefully … Continue…
