It takes a while to listen through and discuss 8 mix-sets. All of the mixes submitted to our Hacienda 30 competition were of top notch quality.

All in all one winner has to be selected and the 1st place goes to Karan Luthra. A local dj hero that managed to build up a solid funky groove after just two tracks and keeps the mix alive, evor-evolving and oh so groovy and phat throughout the whole 30 minutes. The podcast 52 is mixed and compiled by Jon Dasilva, the living legend and original resident of Faç51 Haçienda. Today, two decades later, he’s also a successful producer on labels like Rush Hour. We grabed Jon for a few questions about the mixtape and his plans for 2012.

The one and only Jon DaSilva, the original resident of Fac51 Hacienda is back with a new 12″ release. Taking a step back from his Acid House roots, Jon moves to Chicago grooves of early 90s. Excellent drum programming mixed with Danauld Waugh’s vocals creates a timeless classic.

The B side serves up a deeper, dubby bootleg mix and the Braille Remix with chopped up and filtered vocals.

Hmwl crew goes bang with a live-set from the last Hacienda Lund. This is the first time we are experimenting live with 8 channels, 4 traktor decks and 16 sample decks. The results are chaotic, yet very dance friendly.

Fac 51 Haçienda in Manchester is without a doubt one of Europe’s most important venues in the history of modern electronic music.
