One of WMWL agency‘s finest DJs Jon Dasilva just got a very special prize. His and Maceo Plex collaboration Love Somebody Else was voted and awarded Number 1 House track of the year at the International Dance Music Awards at WMC.

Here is a short interview with the former Haçienda resident who now resides in Stockholm:

TIGHT SILK is the latest incarnation of Stockholm’s Josefine Fagerström who melds Chicago inspired house and Nordic nu-disco with undertones of glossy 80s synths, the TIGHT SILK sound can conjure up images of a hazy summer night spent on a moonlit dance floor.

Josefine’s second single is co-produced by Johan T Karlsson aka Familjen, and mastered by Andreas Tilliander.  Richard Brain’s wobbly bass will make your dancefloor or roomfloor shake no matter what. While Silverarken takes us on a low-bpm psychadelic sub-marine adventure. Mokira Dub anyone?

Blake ”The Prince Of Techno” Baxter every now and then has some house up his sleeve. This is a track hidden at the end of his tech slamming album “The H-Factor” and its just about as classic as a house tune can be with its retro organ stabs and
building rhythm section. A brutal soul-queen style vocal is added on top from a mysterious singer called Makreta Birdsong. I have yet not been able to figure out who that might be. She has obviously done her stuff before.
