2012 was the year of 80s drum machines, ocean-deep bass lines and the bloke called Maceo Plex. And everyone else who imitated his sound. The average BPM lost a 10 beats per minute, so even the most lazy clubbers would be able to nod along. Was it just us, or did the club culture become more grown up? Moving from dark basements to lunch-beats, daytime parties in the park and a sunday afternoon straight edge clubs. It was a year of DIY Vinyl labels, Club Mate and H20.

HVOB are Anna and Paul. They are both based in Vienna from where they create some lovely vocal and deep trippy house. HerVoiceOverBoys is currently signed to Stil vor Talent ( Moguai, Kaiserdisco, Miss Nine, Coyu, Tim Green, Photek, Henry Saiz, Namito, Florian Meindl, Mendo, jozif, Coyu, Djuma Soundsystem, Steve Bug, Noir, Shinedoe, Huxley). Their unusual and timeless sound caught my attention back in November with the Dogs EP. There is also a full HVOB coming early 2013. HVOB (her voice over boys) are Anna and Paul from Austria. Together they produce an electronica genre that they themselves call House Music With Love. What a coincidence

This summer tour brought HVOB to Water Gate, Melt Festival, Bermuda Festival and Waves. Dogs is released on Stil vor Talent and Oliver Koletzki, Lee Jones and Niko Schwind do the remixing. This is what local deep house sound should sound like. Pure love.
