vinyl_girl_by_BiscuiTsi

Oh…the sexy, funky and dirty year of 2012 is nearly over! We survived the Aztec Apocalypse, Obama won a second term (saving us from Mitt Romney Apocalypse) and Swedish House Mafia split up, saving us from further disasters, for the time being. Below a raw, funky and sexy best-of-list, many of them an integral part of Bacid record bag during 2012. Be well, meditate, and don´t believe the hype!

Etnophonic – Motion Sickness [Dynamique Records]

Our countryside friends at Etnophonic just uploaded their latest production. Pure funk on two bass rails heading into the darkness. Only to make a short 30 second break that would make any dub producer droll in envy.

Blake Baxter – N sync, Disko B 1997

[Audio clip: view full post to listen]

Blake ”The Prince Of Techno” Baxter every now and then has some house up his sleeve. This is a track hidden at the end of his tech slamming album “The H-Factor” and its just about as classic as a house tune can be with its retro organ stabs and
building rhythm section. A brutal soul-queen style vocal is added on top from a mysterious singer called Makreta Birdsong. I have yet not been able to figure out who that might be. She has obviously done her stuff before.

DJ Q – 100 No Out, Filter, 2000

[Audio clip: view full post to listen]

OK faithful HMWL readers, I’m gona go temporarily TECH on you! Any really cool house DJ-sets needs at least one warm American style tech track along the lines of Saunderson, Green Velvet, May etc.. With that sound in mind Paul Flynn AKA DJ Q Is actually from Glasgow and the reliable tech-house label “Filter” is London based so I’m totally lost here. But 100 no Out has that distinct sound with It’s a slamming warm natural drum-style intro and a growing almost distorted “Hammond” style synth repeating the same pattern until you Continue…

Jesper Aubin – Sheet (Unsigned)

Jesper Aubin – Sheet by House Music With Love

Jesper Aubin of HMWL crew delivers a perfect, dark midnight techno track. This is the perfect Berghain Track. Richie Hawtin should be signing this one to M_nus immedietely. If not we will just have to find a smaller sophisticated techno label for this baby.

Love Jesper Aubin on Facebook!

David Ekenbäck – Breath

Dj Nibc is one of those Swedish dudes who got fed up with the nordic winters, sold his furniture and moved to Berlin. Actually it seems like everyone cool we know in Sweden are slowly migrating to the German techno mecca lately.

Once in Berlin, Nibc kickstarted Trunkfunk Records -  your local provider of quality techhouse , but also, at times, urban beats and electro. The label has been pushing out wax with guys and girls like Stuffa, Tyken, Dj Nibc, David Ekenbäck, La Fleur, Style of Eye and John Dahlbäck on steady basis since 2006.
